SUMMARY a very nice end of the regular season...we beat the second place daddy o's by a score of 10-5...now let's keep those winning ways up in the playoffs....we still had a ton of missed outs (26) and alot of missed ins (11)....we need to hit the double ring for both in and out shots to win in the playoffs....on the bright side we had a very impressive 53.22 team average...it was nice to see some high scores again... THE LOW LIGHTS "dolla bills" came in at 16 this week...we had 4 players (Ed, Jr, Andy, Ted) tied with 3 in fines to claim the prestigious "Skippy Award" ......3 in fines each isn't too bad....but missed ins and missed outs contributed to it...and we need to eliminate those misses....Johnny and Jeff had 2 in fines each....we had 5 in fines for under 20'swith one each for everyone except Ted...but then again Ted was the only person to chuck a C-rule so it all balances out...let's try to minimize our fine production during the playoffs.... We didn't have any shooters under a 45 average this week...awesome job on the averages... so my new favorite stat...the "under the covers" stat....if we look under the covers once again we see that everyone (except Johnny) had at least 1 game average under a 40....and this week we had only 1 players with at least 1 game in the 20's....Andy (28.00)....The other under 40's were....Ed (31.00), Jr (32.25), Jeff (35.50), Ted (32.00)....We gotta start focusing on averaging over a 40 each game at a minimum...and we can't be throwing games in the 20's at all...also if we look even closer we can see that 28.13% of our shots were under a 40...now we are looking good....I said we should be in the 20's and we finally did it...great job....just keep it up for two more weeks of matches....we had a mix of THE GOOD...Jeff (10.00%), Johnny (27.78%), Ted (29.41%)....THE DECENT...Ed (37.50%), Jr (31.82%), Andy (31.25%)...and fortunately no "UGLY"...that's some nice consistent shooting.... we had 3 under 9's this week...Johnny (3), Andy (6), Jeff (9)...let's stop the under 9's...they can hurt us... back into double digits at missed ins....we need to do better....we had 11 missed ins....Ed led the way with 4...Jeff and Jr each had 2 missed ins...and Johnny, Andy and Ted each had 1 missed in....we need to hit the ins consistently to win in the playoffs.... Another not so great week on the out shots....26 missed outs....are you kidding me??? that is WAYYYYY too many....luckily 11 of them were in one game alone which we fortunately pulled out the win...Jr led the way with 9 missed outs....Ed had 7 missed outs and Ted had 7 missed outs....Johnny and Andy each had 2 missed outs...and Jeff had 1 missed outs....missing that many outs will hurt come playoff time when teams always seem to step it up...focus on the outs... We had 4 shooters under a 2.0 average last night...Ed (1.88), Jr (1.17), Andy (1.67) and Ted (1.75)....guys each year the playoffs came down to cricket...we have to stay consistent throughout the playoffs....step it up.... Everyone finished the night over at a 50% win rate or better....love the wins.... THE HIGH LIGHTS for the 2nd week in a row we have a team average over a 50....this week we shot a very nice team average of 53.22.....Jeff led the way with a 60.76 average....Johnny (57.13), Kenny (55.84) and Jr (54.61) each had over a 50 average.....Ed (49.77), Ted (48.79) and Andy (45.57) round out the over 45 club....good averages this week guys...let's keep those high averages rolling for our 2 playoff games.... we only had 5 tons last night....Jeff led the way with 2....Ed, Jr and Ted each had 1 ton....Ted had the high score of 140...Ed had a 136....and Jr had a 120.... 8 for 8 then 8 for 12 then 8 for 17 now 8 for 19...we're going in the wrong direction on the in shots...Jeff led the way with 3 ins...Johnny had 2 ins....Ed, Jr and Ted each had 1 in....We have to hit the ins....we can't afford to get behind in 501 in the playoffs....hit the double ring boys.... Ted led the way with 3 outs....Jeff had 2 double outs....and Johnny, Jr and Andy each had 1 double out....good job all year spreading around the outs.... we shot a team cricket average of 1.92....Johnny led the way with an impressive 3.0 average...Jeff had a 2.14 average to round out the over 2.0 club....with scores like that no wonder we're 9-1 in cricket this half...good half Johnny....now let's win our cricket games in the playoffs... Johnny led the way with 4 >=3-mark rounds...Andy, Jeff and Ted had 2 >=3-mark rounds....Ed and Jr didn't feel like adding much value with high marks this week... Jeff and Ed led the night with a 71.43% win rate...Johnny, Andy and Ted had a 66.67% win rate....and Jr had a 57.14% win rate...keep those wins coming.... YTD Leaders Average - Jeff (60.52); High Score - Jeff/Andy (152); Tons - Jeff (27 @ 12.50%); Double Ins - Jeff (26 @ 55.32%) and Ed (24 @ 57.14%) ; Double Outs - Andy (15 @ 38.46%)... Cricket Average - Jeff (2.46); >=3-mark rounds - Jeff (26 @ 40.00%); Overall win % - Jeff (72.46%); Fines (low) - Jeff (19) CONCLUSION a great way to end the season against a very good (ie the team that beat us in playoffs last half) Daddy O's team...we won with double digits....we could still improve in some areas liked missed ins and outs....but as a team we are playing great....this is possibly the best "team" half we ever had....but the regular season doesn't mean much if we don't win the whole thing....let's get ourselves focused....let's approach the playoffs like we have the rest of the season and have fun...no reason to put any pressure on ourselves or try to do things differently than we have for the past 10 weeks....we play our best when we are having fun and are focused.....let's just out our normal can of whoop ass and win this f'n thing this year....if for nothing else we deserve it for coming together like a great team should..... Let's look at some of our team accomplishments for this half....
well I knew it would be an exciting race for the out shot leader....but when all the dust cleared Andy remained at the top of the mountain with 15 double outs and he did so with a very nice 38.46% double out rate....congrats Andy.....Jeff was on his heels and shot 2 outs in each of the last 2 weeks but it wasn't enough as he ends with 14 double outs and a very nice 35.90%.....Johnny and Jr each had a very nice 12 double out half....and Ed and Ted just missed the double digit out production with 9 outs each....like I stated before....this is probably our best team half for spreading around the wins and outs and averages, etc....everyone should be proud of what they accomplished...but our goal is not met yet....we have to want to win the whole thing....we seem to always dominate in the regular season and come out flat in the playoffs....we can not do that this year....this is our year and we have to finish it in winning style....no changes to what we've done all half....come out, have fun, drink, win and be happy.... We have a bye this week....but we will be meeting at the Ashton on Thursday....we will simulate a regular match night as part of our practice....let's plan on showing up 7:00-7:30..... We need 2 more winning weeks after our practice week....let's stay focused and do what we've done all year and that is win....we have home field throughout the playoffs...let's take advantage of that...remember....have fun and stay relaxed while we are shooting and we'll stay unstoppable.... Be on the lookout for the 2nd half award ceremony....should we do it before the playoffs or wait till after the playoffs? |
