SUMMARY It's finals night...we play Red Rooster...very early it seems like we aren't in a good flow...but it winds up being a back and forth battle all night...we had chances to win every single cricket game but instead we go 0-3 at cricket...embarrassing...we had 13 missed outs...and back to back games the "A" team was down to a one dart out and went 0-6...absolutely horrible...at the end of the night we find ourselves down 5-7...we play 2 of our best 501 games and win them both to tie the night 7-7...so once again it comes down to Jr and Andy in cricket...they start out well and jump out to a nice lead...looking like the game could be wrapped up until their guy closes everything out except bulls...we are up in points so it's 4 bulls to 3...and we wind up missing bull 5 straight rounds and lose the night 7-8.... even though we don't collect fines in the playoffs...we still record them...3 under 20's, 4 C-rules, 3 missed ins, 2 squats in cricket...
5th week in a row with over a 50 team average...the "B" team all shot over a 49...good come back from last week...
Jeff shot over 85% of his shots over a 40...Ted had a nice week with over 77% of his shots over a 40...Everyone else was less than 65%....
for the 5th week in a row we had double digit tons...Jeff hit 7 tons...Johnny was the only shooter "not in the mood" to hit any triple digit scores...
6 scores over a 100...nice high scores this week...
4 out of 6 low game averages below a 40...gotta do better...
good job not hitting single digit scores...Andy busted on a 73...but we won't count that...
single digit missed ins for the 4rd week in a row...all 5 of them were in 2 games...one of the games we won and one of the games we lost...at least we did a good job of giving ourselves a chance of winning...
4 shooters with an out...2 shooters with no outs....2 shooters with multiple outs....good job...but 5 of our missed outs were one dart outs that should have been hit and most likely would have turned around the night...
you don't need to look any further on what cost us the night...it was our pathetic cricket shooting...the sad part is even with these horrible averages we had a chance to win every single cricket game...one thing that has to be fixed for next year is that we have to learn how to hit the damn bulls eye regularly...I'll give some props to Jeff and Ted for averaging over a 2.0...but we had 4 shooters <= 1.50...that's not good any regular week...but that's inexcusable in the finals...
all I can say is ughghghghgh....
last week we had 1 0-mark cricket round and we won 2 cricket games...what the heck did you think would happen with 14 0-mark rounds this week...that's right we got our butts shut out in cricket...12 misses at cork....2 regular squat shots...it hurts my head right now even thinking about it...
The "B" team had a nice turn around from last week....The "A" team on the other hand crapped the bed....
2/3 of the "A" team were <=0 ....The "B" team were all >= 0...
YTD for the playoffs everyone (except Ed) were in positive figures...
Congrats to John, Jr, Jeff and Ted for having positive rankings for the 2nd half...Ed, Andy and Skippy some improvements are needed...BUT...on the bright side...Ed went from -19 in the first half to -9 in the second half...Andy went from -20 in the first half to -9 in the second half...Skippy went from -68 in the first half to -30 in the second half (but i'm thinking that was only because he didn't show up many weeks in the 2nd half)...Jr went from a -27 in the first half to +12 in the second half ...great turn around Jr....Ted went from +20 in the first half to +38 in the second half...so the good news is that there was at least some improvement....on the other hand John went from +113 in the first half to +61 in the second half...and Jeff went from +194 in the first half to +184 in the second half...so even thought we didn't improve we still crushed the rest of you idiots...haha... Cricket-2 -- Jeff shoots 5, 5, 1, 5, 2, 0, 2...Johnny shoots 0, 1, 4, 0, 1, 1, 0...too many goose eggs...and an unexpected loss...our 6th loss... 501-5 -- Ed gets in...Jr hits a ton...Ted takes the game out...our 5th win... 501-6 -- Jeff, Johnny and Andy miss the in...Jeff gets in...Jeff hits a ton...John hits a 17...Andy hits a 13...our 7th loss... 501-7 -- Ed gets in...Jr hits a 97...Ted follows that up with a ton...Jr takes the game out ...our 6th win... 501-8 -- Jeff gets in...Andy hits a ton...Jeff hits a 122 to set Johnny up for the 32 out....our 7th win... Cricket-3 -- Jr shoots 3, 1, 2, 1, 2, 3, 0, 0, 0...Andy shoots 2, 5, 2, 1, 1, 1, 0, 0 ...I guess it wasn't meant to be...we go the distance for the 2nd week in a row...but this time we lose in the finals by a score of 7-8.... CONCLUSION another finals that goes the distance...we missed opportunities the whole night....just didn't seem like everyone was in sync last night...not winning any cricket games was the killer...we had our chances but didn't capitalize...you have 5 months to ponder how you can suck less next year...
