18-19 1st Half | Commentary

SUMMARY

So we made the playoffs by 1 game...so that's a good thing...we played Lumpy McGees in the first round of the playoffs last night...and we jump out to a 2-0 lead...then we lose 4 games in a row...then we win 4 games in a row to go up 6-4...then we wind up losing the last 4 games in a row and lose the night 6-8....I guess we gotta give their team credit because we didn't get down to many out shots...we only had 9 total shots at an out and we did a very good job by hitting 5 of them...can't win games if you don't get shots at outs...but we did miss 15 in shots which caused us 3 losses....we had 4 shooters under a 45 average which is pretty unacceptable during a regular week but really unacceptable during the playoffs....we had 3 shooters at 50% or worse at shooting over a 40...you know that stat is enough to cause me to lose my mind...we did have double digit tons though...so we need to clean a bunch of stuff up for the 2nd half if we expect to make a deep run in the playoffs....don't be afraid to pick up a dart between now and next half...which I think should start around Jan 17...

22 of the past 23 weeks we had a team average over a 50....this week we shot a 52.94 team average....but don't let the team average fool you...we had 4 shooters under a 45 average....as the English would say "rubbish"....1 shooter over 50...1 shooter over 60...1 shooter over 75....

as a team we shot 66.37% of our shots over a 40...we had 2 shooters right around 90%...we had 1 shooter over 68%...1 shooter over 60%...and 3 shooters under 50%....no wonder we didn't get down to out shoots when people are shooting more than half their shots under a 40...gotta do better...

5 out of 11 weeks with single digit missed ins...and we couldn't do it in the playoffs...we had 15 missed ins....Jeff went 4-4 at the ins...Johnny didn't get a shot at the ins....the rest of the team went 4-19 at the ins...all those missed ins cost us 3 games...

4 shooters with outs...we only missed 4 out shots...but that means we didn't shoot well enough to get to the out shots...but when we got to them we did a pretty decent job of hitting them....alll facets of the match matter...if you can't get in...if you can't hit high numbers...you're likely not going to get many outs...gotta stay consistent thoughout the match...

CONCLUSION

Lack of consistency, lack of firepower, lack of hitting ins are all things that contributed to us losing last night....didn't help that their team was firing on all cylinders...we gave it a good run but just fell short losing 6-8...the good news is the 2nd half is right around the corner...from what I can tell looks like I have to pick up the schedules on Jan 10....so we likely will be starting back up Jan 17...don't be afraid to pick up a dart over the next month....hope everyone has a great Xmas and New Years...and if you didn't pay your ALL of you fines last night make sure you bring it before week 1 of next half....NO PAY...NO PLAY!!!!
